Notice is hereby given that the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments (Metro COG) is conducting a special meeting on October 16, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in the Fargo City Commission Chambers (Fargo City Hall - 225 4th St N, Fargo), at which members of the Fargo City Commission, West Fargo City Commission, Horace City Council, Moorhead City Council, Dilworth City Council, Clay County Board of Commissioners, and the Cass County Board of Commissioners will be in attendance. Planning Commissions of each jurisdiction will also be informed of and invited to this event. The purpose of this special meeting is to discuss the 2045 Metro COG Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), formally titled “Metro GROW 2045.”

The purpose of the public open house is to provide an opportunity for Metro COG’s member jurisdictions and the public to learn about the contents of the Plan. The MTP is Metro COG’s guiding document, and is federally mandated to be updated every five years.  The MTP contains agency goals, analysis of future transportation needs, and a list of multimodal projects that are expected to be needed over the course of the next 20-25 years.

The Draft Metro GROW document is available for review on Metro COG’s Metro GROW website - www.metrogrow.org  or can be reviewed at Metro COG’s offices: 1 - 2nd Street North, Case Plaza Suite 232, in Fargo, North Dakota.  Draft documents will also be available for review at the Fargo Public Library – Main Library (102 3rd St N, Fargo), Dr. James Carlson Library (2801 32nd Ave S, Fargo), Northport Library (2714 N Broadway, Fargo), West Fargo Public Library (109 3rd St E, West Fargo), and the Lake Agassiz Regional Library – Moorhead Public Library (118 5th St S, Moorhead). The final version of the MTP will be acted upon on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. during the Metro COG Policy Board meeting at Metro COG’s offices (listed above). A public hearing will be held at that meeting to solicit any final citizen comments. The public is invited to attend this meeting or to submit written comments to Metro COG no later than 12:00 p.m., November 21, 2019 at 1 - 2nd Street N., Case Plaza, Suite 232, Fargo, ND 58102 (email: maddox@fmmetrocog.org). Contact Michael Maddox, Senior Transportation Planner, at 701.532.5104 if additional information is required.

Between the October 16, 2019 special meeting and the November 21, 2019 public hearing before the Metro COG Policy Board, each metro area jurisdiction will consider the proposed Plan at their individual Council, Commission or Board meetings. Watch local agendas for inclusion of this item on the agendas of regularly scheduled meetings.
