“Special Multi-Jurisdictional Council, Commission and Board Meeting: MATBUS Transit Authority Study for the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Area”

Notice is hereby given that the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments (Metro COG) is conducting a special meeting on September 22, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The meeting will be held virtually and can be accessed through the following link https://srfconsulting.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_KLb3-neCRMu2gyVAF0UcTg), at which members of the Fargo City Commission, West Fargo City Commission, Horace City Council, Moorhead City Council, Dilworth City Council, Clay County Board of Commissioners, and the Cass County Board of Commissioners will be in attendance. Planning Commissions of each jurisdiction have also been informed of and invited to this event.

The purpose of the virtual meeting is to discuss the MATBUS Transit Authority Study and to provide an opportunity for Metro COG’s member jurisdictions to learn about the contents and recommendations of the Study. The MATBUS Transit Authority Study looks at both ways of overcoming funding deficits after this region is designated as a Transportation Management Area (TMA – designation of urban areas over 200,000 population) and associated governance structures that would further unite transit planning and decision-making.

After the meeting, the presentation will be available on Metro COG’s website -  http://fmmetrocog.org/projects-rfps/matbus-transit-authority-study.  Contact Michael Maddox, Senior Transportation Planner, at 701.532.5104 (email: maddox@fmmetrocog.org) if additional information is required.

Depending upon the level of participation of various city Commissioners and Council Members, this event may constitute an Open Public Meeting.
